As I mentioned on this board before, my dad Donald F. Schwertley was an Army pilot in the Pacific in WW2. Here are three pictures from his photo album of that time. He flew with the 44th Fighter Squadron (TE), 18th Fighter Group (TE), 13th Air Force. He flew P-38L aircraft, primarily out of the Philippines.

MORE! MORE! MORE! I love photos of the WWII aircraft. The "Fork tailed Devil" was one of my favorites. When I was in my preteens I built literally hundreds of models and my pride and joy was a 'stick' model P-38 with a 36" wingspan. I detailed that one more than any of them.

The Most I can get out of My dad about the Korean war is a story about him getting his license to drive a jeep as acting SGT. of the guard having never driven a car before And the stories about the poker games on the ship to and from.He won't talk about the war it self at all. These are awesome pic's, thank you for sharing them with us.
